Morning routines are important. How important? I don’t really know, I just know they are super important! For CEOs, the way you begin your day sets the tone for the rest of your day’s accomplishments, failures and focus. The energy you have, the mood you’re in, the social interaction you’re up for, all set the stage for how your business ends up running.
Morning routines are pitched all over the web on an almost daily basis. Many begin with yoga. Some just say pound coffee. Others teach of breakfast meal secrets. And hey, I am sure they are great. But are any as qualified as the greatest CEO today? Richard Branson is a monster CEO. This guy never stops. And for 50 years, he’s been doing the same darn things every morning. So what does that tell us? Whatever he’s been doing, must be working.
I can already tell you that rising early is first and foremost. If you think you aren’t a morning person, that’s because you stay up late. I mean, come on, there are no such things as morning people or night owls, just people who choose to delegate their sleep time differently. The human body is way too flexible to be categorized in such a blasphemous way!
His other points include nurturing passions, making the most of your time, and quiet reflection. But hey, why don’t you just go directly to the source of it all! Check out everything he has to say on Inc.com. You might be really surprised by how helpful changing up your morning routine might be!
